How the partner programme works.
City Sleuth is a GPS-triggered mystery game played in city streets. Escape-room operators design the games for their own city; we run the platform. This page is the whole programme at a glance.
You already know how to build a clue chain that feels fair and lands a reveal, and you know your city better than we ever will. We built everything else: the app, the GPS triggers, booking, payments, support, leaderboards, and the marketing to fill a launch weekend. A partnership puts the two together.
An outdoor game has no rooms to fit out, no capacity ceiling, and nobody to reset it between groups. Many partners run City Sleuth alongside their existing rooms and reach players who would never book indoors.
- 1Apply. Tell us about your escape room and your city. The form checks live whether your city is open, and we reply within five business days.
- 2Get approved. We approve one partner per city. Once approved, your city is yours: no other operator runs City Sleuth games there.
- 3Build your game. In the partner portal you pick a storyline, choose the points of interest around your city, and write the puzzles. A route is roughly three kilometres with eight to ten stops.
- 4Review. When the route is ready you submit it. We play it end to end and either approve it or send it back with notes.
- 5Launch. We set the Premiere window with you and run the marketing. Players book on citysleuth.com and the app runs the game on the street.
- 6Earn. You earn a share of every ticket sold for games in your city, Premiere and Open Play alike. There is no upfront fee and no licence to buy.
- ✓Deep local knowledge of your city — its streets, secrets, and stories
- ✓Puzzle and storyline design (we provide the templates and tools)
- ✓Point-of-interest selection and on-the-ground site checks
- ✓Light operational support during your city’s Premiere window
- ✓The player app (iOS + Android), built and maintained
- ✓Booking, payments, ticket fulfilment, and vouchers
- ✓Marketing, social, leaderboards, and customer support
- ✓The partner portal: authoring tools, reports, and Sherlock, our partner assistant
The detail lives inside the partner portal, not on this page. A step-by-step walkthrough takes you from setting up your organisation to your first live game, the authoring tools hold the storyline templates and guidelines, and Sherlock, our partner assistant powered by Claude, answers questions about the programme in plain language whenever they come up.
